SANITY WILL SOON RETURN!!!
LET’S PREPARE FOR THE TURNING!!!
Today is December 28. In four more days, the tornado will have passed. All we need to do is manage these four days and then sanity will hopefully return to our lives. This is a cosmic shift that happens every year at this time. It is emotional, spiritual, and physical as it comes at the time when the earth shifts towards the sun, just a few degrees.
It is a precious and special opportunity for us. It is an invitation for us to reorient ourselves and redirect our choices to ones that lead us to the lives we really want.
And WHAT you ask, does this have to do with food? C’mon, Theresa, you are the dietitian here, not some therapist or spiritualist!
Ahhh, I reply. You are correct. I am a dietitian. And did you know that whatever food you eat, the body absorbs it, breaks it down into its chemical components, and uses it to repair, create, or reform your body tissues? So, the chicken – or cheesesteak – you ate for dinner last night could become your heart, lungs, liver, or eyeballs? Or cholesterol, high blood sugar, or extra padding? Or brain cells?
And each of these foods – and the way we eat them – have an effect on our emotional and spiritual selves. Though this happens every day, week, month, year of our lives, that is what this time of year means. It is a shift. A re-evaluation. An opportunity to choose differently.
What do you want your 2024 to be like? What is your goal? Some people choose a new word for each year. What would your word be? Joy? Sorrow? Growth? Reliance? Restriction? Suffering? Change? Freedom? Strength? Power? Resilience? Or Defiance, Desperation? Heartbreak? What do you choose to draw into your life? Peace? Freedom? Food neutrality?
What we think of, what we plan for, what we dream of, what we take action on, what we direct our body mind and spirit to do, the Universe will draw those things to us and bring us more of that.
When we speak in words that are negative or resistant: “I’m not eating any more junk food” it sets us up for a battle. I can hear the anger in the very words. Often, we can talk so well about what we want to change, but the change seems so enormous, and we are not sure how to get it done – one bite at a time – that we need a better bigger more positive plan. So, I ask you not to spend the next year arguing with yourself (about anything) unless the arguing is what you want and gives you joy.
Whatever you want, please reach for the good and the joyful. May this become a year of growth and accomplishment for you. May it be a year in which you achieve what you have been longing for, transform the negative into the positive, and begin to create a life you really want to live. May your recovery process grow into a powerful support system that guides you to what you really desire.
You are precious to me, be welcome to call if I can help.
Blessings to you,
