Make A Change

Last week’s blog brought up so many feelings! We feel like there is only so much time in the day; if we don’t put that time on work stuff, we will be behind! And this, that and the other, all essential, won’t get done on time! That would, of course, be some kind of catastrophe! What shall I say to that?

This is a quote from last week’s blog:

“Seriously, what kind of life do you really want to live? What changes do you need to make to get more of what you want and less of what you don’t want? Are you really happy in this life now? Take the time this May day, to mentally construct the life you wish for, and plan out how to bring – at least some aspects of it – about. What will make you really happy? What will make your struggle and sacrifice worth it?”

You deserve to have what you love and want in your life. You deserve joy. You deserve flowers. You deserve time to rest. You deserve time to enjoy your life.

What will help you create a life you really want to live in?

Change takes time. Change takes making new habits. Change means redefining our priorities. Change takes a different kind of work. Change takes support from others. Change takes your Higher Power to intervene and give you the strength and courage to change.

I challenge you, with me, to make a list. Several lists.

  • What are five things in my life I am grateful for?
  • What are five things I want less of in my life?
  •  What are five things I want more of in my life?
  •  What are my real, honest, heartfelt goals?

Now focus on your goals. Pick an activity from the first three questions that can get you closer to what you want. Pick an easy one, that can be automated and does not take a lot of time.

Practice it for the next five days. Send me a comment to tell me how it worked.

My change is to add a specific kind of prayer. It takes five minutes a day. I’ll tell you the results next week.

Blessings to you,

Theresa

This is so helpful, missed wacky wed because I am at the beach this week. Yes, practicing self care is so important. I am learning to enjoy other things besides eating. A great walk on the beach and bicycling is great.

I am asking what kind of life do I want when I start to overeat and I am backing off playing with my phone at the restaurant when I am finished rather than get seconds.

I want to have less of whining over things I can’t change, less of self pity and learn to enjoy life on lifes terms. I am looking at what I have in life and not what I dont. This is helping my eating a lot.

What do I want in life? Enjoy things other than eating and appreciate and be grateful for what I do have and go and enjoy life.

This is SOOO important! We set aside the harmful foods so we can enjoy our lives, and what really matters.

That is awesome, I never that about giving up certain foods in order to have more time with other people and family members. Which does take my focus off the foods I don’t need. An more time on things I love & want in my life an people I love.
